Explore the Pacific Northwest’s rugged mountains and glaciers

Join a group of motivated peers ages 23 and up for an unforgettable adventure in the Cascade Range. Explore sweeping glaciers and snowfields on the iconic slopes of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan. Build the technical skills you need to live and travel on ice and snow. Along the way, develop your leadership style and learn to manage risk effectively. Watch the sun rise over snow-covered peaks, then prepare for a summit attempt with your team.

As you backpack through old growth forests on your way to the glaciers, you’ll focus on the basics, like cooking on a campstove and practicing Leave No Trace. Once you reach the glaciers, you’ll move into the climbing curriculum, starting with knots and rope handling and progressing to belaying and traveling on a rope team. As you navigate boulder fields and high mountain passes, you’ll also learn about mountain ecosystems and glaciology.

Throughout the expedition, you’ll grow your leadership skills. Practice good communication and teamwork while learning how to complete a crevasse rescue. Get comfortable supporting a group in different roles as you work together to find a route across the glacier. On this expedition, gain the confidence to lead at home, at work, and in your community.
