High School Credit

BJ Klophaus
A student stops and takes in the flowers and rainbow in the Rocky Mountains.

Step 1

Talk with Your Guidance Counselor

Schedule a time to talk to your guidance counselor to confirm you can get credit for taking a NOLS course. NOLS partners with Albuquerque Academy, which is accredited by the New Mexico State Department of Education and the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, to offer high school credit for our courses.

Have your guidance counselor contact the NOLS registrar (registrar@nols.edu) and ask about our high school credit program. Your school will determine if credits available through the partnership between NOLS and Albuquerque Academy will be accepted.

Step 3

Fill Out Your Goals and Evaluation Form During the Course

Fill out your goals and evaluation form and return it to one of your instructors on the last day of your course. If you do not fill out the paperwork you will not get credit nor a refund.

Step 4

Receive Your Transcript After Your Course

One official Albuquerque Academy transcript will be mailed to the address on your registration form. It will not be sent out until the close of the term in which your course falls. Additional transcripts are available upon request. If you need additional transcripts, you can request them at registrar@nols.edu. Requests for early report of grades will be accommodated if they are made in advance of your course start date.  Contact the NOLS registrar (registrar@nols.edu) with any requests or questions.

Withdrawals

If you withdraw from high school credit registration before the start of your course, you will be refunded the registration fee minus $25 for processing. If you withdraw before the end of the course, credit may be awarded based on the duration and quality of your participation. Credit for separated students is awarded at the discretion of NOLS staff and instructors. The expense for any high school credit not awarded to a separated student will be refunded, minus a $25 processing fee.

High school credit for NOLS courses is granted through a partnership with Albuquerque Academy, which is accredited by the New Mexico State Department of Education and the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest. Albuquerque Academy and NOLS are entirely separate entities and no agency or employee relationship exists between them.
