Karin Silberberg

Karin is a physical therapist with a masters degree in Chinese medicine and neuroscience. As a PT, Karin divides her time between patient care, and teaching and researching human physiology and kinesiology for integrative yoga. Karin is also a senior NOLS field instructor, and she has been leading students on field courses for the school since 2008. Most of her field weeks are in remote areas of the Patagonia Coast and the Amazon. She also does expeditions in Alaska, Scandinavia, the Rocky Mountains, and Garopaba, Brazil. Before her “NOLS-life”, Karin started working in outdoor education through Outward Bound Brasil, and Kauana (an Amazon adventure sport organization). Karin holds ACA Open Water Ocean Kayak Instructor Level 4 and Surf Kayak Level 3 certifications. Karin is also a certified professional coach and group facilitator (SLAC - Latin American Coaching Society) and has her WEMT from NOLS Wilderness Medicine. When in Brazil, Karin lives in Garopaba, close to nature and the ocean, and she is dedicated to taking care of the health of her patients. Karin loves the learning opportunities she shares with her students. "Being 'close' to my students and sharing their learnings is definitely my bliss. I am just following my bliss while always close to nature”.
