Forrest Young-Taft

Senior Faculty

Forrest Young-Taft

Forrest started his journey with NOLS after a suggestion from his mother who had taken a course when she was nineteen. He took his River Instructor Course in 2011 and has been working since as a whitewater instructor in the canoe, raft, packraft, and kayak programs as well as in our wilderness backpacking program. After working as full time expedition faculty for a few years, now he is splitting his time between the field and a position as the NOLS River Base Program Supervisor. His passion for working at NOLS is derived from our school’s ability to transform people into powerful value based leaders who are engaged in protecting North America's wild lands and watersheds and strive to enact social justice wherever they find themselves in the future.
