Tarheel born and tarheel bred, Eric started in education by teaching high school science in rural south Texas with Teach For America. During his summers, he led expeditions in Costa Rica and Alaska for teenagers. After finishing a Master's of Arts in Adventure Education with Prescott College, Eric transitioned to a university outdoor program for three years. He has been a NOLS field instructor of backpacking and sea kayaking since 2008, and began his career with Landmark Learning in 2011. He now calls Boise, Idaho home and enjoys traveling all over the country to teach wilderness medicine.
