Dave is currently in his fourth decade of facilitating learning in the outdoors. His enthusiastic passion for learning, teaching and mentoring has been the guiding force of his professional life. He has instructed field and wilderness medicine courses for NOLS since 1992, and recently retired after 16 years as a Professor of Adventure Education at Prescott College. He has also worked in wilderness therapy, summer camps, and outdoor environmental education schools. Dave has had the great fortune of teaching in a wide variety of awe-inspiring natural settings ranging from the depths of a shipwreck in the tropics to high latitude arctic tundra. His other passions in life are messing around in boats, practicing motorcycle mindfulness, and playing the mountain dulcimer. Dave strives to live heartily and in the perpetual presence of the sublime.
