If you are coming to Tanzania for a climb on Kilimanjaro, NOLS is also offering you a chance to come along on a safari to 2 of Tanzania's most storied parks. NOLS Instrutors will spend 3 days on game drives and cultural visits showing you some of the best that Tanzania has to offer.

Tarangire National Park is famous among wildlife experts for its high density of elephants, more than any other park in the country. While these impressive animals are the main draw, the park also has outstanding birding and many other animal herds.

Ngorongoro Crater is an enclosed Reserve where animals live within a volcanic caldera. The caldera walls make it very difficult for animals to leave so it is a natural setting to view animals year round. This is one of the best locations in the world for viewing African animals in the wild and it will not disapoint!

A special highlight from this trip will be discovering that you already know some Swahili. (Simba means "Lion" and Rafiki meand "friend")

Overall Difficulty*:

*This trip is mostly going to be riding in Jeeps.
