Dr. Anne Zink

Dr. Anne Zink is a practicing emergency physician living in Palmer, Alaska, and former Chief Medical Officer for the State of Alaska, a role she held for five years, including leading the state through the pandemic and representing all states and territories nationally. She continues to work on health systems change as a consultant and Senior Fellow at Yale School of Public Health, focused on rural health, whole-person health, and health data — including co-creating PopHIVE, a disruptive health data platform.
Zink grew up in Colorado, and NOLS became central to her life at 15 on an Adventure Course. She met her fellow-instructor husband along the way, and their two grown children remain deeply connected to NOLS today.
She earned a BA from Bryn Mawr College and an MD from Stanford University, and completed her residency in Utah.
