Ed Roberson
Ed Roberson is a Colorado-based conservationist and the creator of Mountain & Prairie, a podcast featuring long-form conversations with people shaping the future of the American West. Since launching in 2016, the show has been recognized by the Aspen Institute, Patagonia, The Nature Conservancy, MeatEater, and Mountainfilm, and was named the top conservation podcast of 2025 and 2026.
Ed has worked in land, water, and conservation in the West for nearly two decades. He served as Conservation Director at Palmer Land Conservancy, where he led water conservation efforts in southeastern Colorado, and earlier worked as a ranch broker across Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho—experiences that continue to inform how he thinks about working landscapes and rural communities. A North Carolina native, he holds a BA in economics and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
A proud graduate of a NOLS Semester in the Pacific Northwest (1999), Ed credits that experience with sparking his enduring interest in adventure, leadership, and conservation. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, two daughters, maniac dog, and weird cat. He’s an obsessive reader, a comically slow ultrarunner, and a blundering Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner who enjoys camping with his family and getting into the mountains, big and small.
