Yellowstone Nordic Ski - Adult

Spend six days Nordic skiing through Yellowstone National Park — the “Land of Fire and Ice” and the world’s first national park. You’ll ski groomed trails that wind past hot springs, geysers, and wildlife, right out the door of the Old Faithful Snow Lodge — your home for the week.

You’ll start at NOLS Teton Valley in Driggs, Idaho, where you’ll organize gear and work through the fundamentals of avalanche education before boarding a snowcoach into the park. You may spot bison and geothermal features steaming against the winter sky along the way.

Days are spent exploring the greater reaches of Yellowstone on groomed trails, with instructors teaching local ecology, snow science, and avalanche awareness along the way. Weather shapes the flow of each day — cold temps might push a later start, while a clear evening might pull the group back out onto the trails after dinner. Evenings wind down beside a crackling fire in the Firehole Lounge, where you’ll enjoy appetizers and a warm meal with your group.

Nordic skiers of all abilities are welcome — the week begins with the basics and builds from there. You’ll leave with a NOLS Avalanche Awareness certification, recognized by the American Avalanche Association, and a side of Yellowstone that most people never see.
