New Additions to the NOLS Staffing Office
NOLS instructors are the best in the business. They come to us with very strong technical skills, teaching skills and personal expeditioning background. They then go through an extensive education on NOLS curriculum and protocols, apprentice on one course and then they are ready to teach for us.
The NOLS staffing office is responsible for this recruitment, training, continuing education and retention of NOLS field instructors. This week it was announced that Steve Herlihy, Stacy Wells, and Heather Scureman will be joining the Staffing Office this spring.
Steve will be working as Training and Staffing Coordinator. He has worked in the climbing, hiking, and whitewater boating programs. He also served as the support staff coordinator for the filming of a NOLS course last summer.
Stacy and Heather will both be working as Field Staff Coordinators. Stacy has worked in the wilderness, climbing and winter programs, and she brings a ton of prior experience from the Admission Office.
Heather has worked in the sea kayak and wilderness programs. She has also managed the Ensenada, and La Paz Mexico programs. Currently Heather is working as an admission officer.
Congrats to Steve, Heather and Stacy!
Bruce Palmer, NOLS marketing director and John Abel, NOLS senior staffing coordinator
