Join us for an early Earth Day in Lander!
The interns from the Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability Department and NOLS Rocky Mountain are teaming up to bring Earth Day to Lander! While Earth Day is technically April 22nd, the RM interns will be leaving us before then, so we’ve decided to hold an event on April 10th instead.
The event will be a community riverbank clean-up day! All Lander residents are invited to join us in giving the banks of the Popo Agie and the adjacent land a spring cleaning.
The clean up will be followed by a BBQ (with veggie options, of course) to thank all of our volunteers. We’re hoping to have some live music there as well!
If you’re in town, come on on down and help beautify our public places.
Event details:
Saturday April 10th, 10am – 2pm
Lander City Park – meet at the back Pavilion (or in the main building in case of foul weather)
Bring gloves, water bottles, and appropriate clothing for the weather. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle and plate to the BBQ and to walk or bike to the event so we can minimize our impact!
NOLS is not responsible for the safety or actions of the participants. Rocks can be slippery, the river will be flowing, the water will be cold, and the trash can be hazardous. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Participate at your own risk.
