Jackson Eco-Fair Fun
A creative use for all of those plastic
grocery bags!
On April 24th, NOLS participated in Jackson, Wyoming’s Earth Week celebration: an eco-fair! The event was hosted through a partnership between the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Campaign,
Jackson Whole Grocer and Slow Foods of the Tetons. Local businesses, conservation groups, outfitters and educational
organizations were invited to share their sustainability efforts in and around the valley with Jackson residents.
The fair was held at the Pronghorn Park. Over 1000 participants enjoyed free samples of local foods,
beers and wines, live music, demonstrations by
local green experts, kid’s activities, and beautiful weather!
The NOLS booth featured the usual mix of stickers, pens, and catalogs, as well as sustainability resources such as our new Food Purchasing Protocol. We also debuted our new educational poster highlighting some of the sustainability efforts of NOLS offices around the world. It includes projects in the areas of waste, water, transportation, food, energy, and purchasing and will soon be displayed at a NOLS location near you!
