Main Street Outreach Event

On Friday night, Main Street was blocked off for Lander’s Main Street event! Bouncy castles replaced cars (the batman one was super awesome), stores moved outside to display their goods on tables, and a few bands came out to play. The RM interns put together a table display for NOLS right outside the Noble Hotel. We handed out a lot of cookies, but also met some NOLS enthusiasts overjoyed by the abundance of free stickers.
The evening’s highlight was the sandbag-throwing contest, in light of the recent flood. The announcer called for burly men to come up and compete. I am proud to report that two of our own burly lady interns decided to step up to the plate as well! Adrienne really got that bag flying with her extreme muscle power. What a woman.
All in all, it was a successful night. We got to reach out into the community, meet a lot of locals, and prove to Lander that RM interns can rock a sandbag-throwing contest.
