Whitney Emery

Whitney came to NOLS as a student on a backcountry rock climbing course in 2005. On that course that she decided one day she would work for NOLS. After interning in the Southwest in 2007 and working in wilderness therapy as a field instructor for a few years she took her NOLS instructor course in 2011. She has worked at NOLS Northeast since it's beginning and now works as a program supervisor there for its operating season. In the Fall and Spring she still works in the field on backpacking courses. She holds a B.S. in Physical Education and an M.S. Ed. in Recreation Education, both from SUNY Cortland. Her favorite things include all things Winter, dogs, her husband Bob, son Otto and teaching him all the wonders of the woods.
