Born and raised in Woody Creek, Colorado, near Aspen, Maureen grew up skiing, hiking, and biking in the Rockies. After receiving a BA from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, she returned to the mountains and began working as an outdoor educator for the High Mountain Institute and NOLS. In the winter she returns to the Aspen area to ski patrol at Aspen Highlands and tour and ski the snowy Elk Mountains. Working for NOLS Wilderness Medicine has combined her passions for the outdoors as well as for helping others through medicine and education.
