Julia has been involved in outdoor education since the early 00's. She got her start in Vermont leading wilderness trail crews for four years before moving west to Colorado. Julia attended the University of Colorado and received a Bachelor of Science in biology and geography. She has been instructing for NOLS since 2004. When Julia is not working for NOLS Wilderness Medicine and NOLS Expeditions, she can usually be found playing in snow. During the winter months, Julia works as a ski patrol supervisor in Colorado. She teaches avalanche classes and skis powder in her free time!
