Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician

Brett Gallagher

Brett grew up playing in the backwoods, rivers and mountains of Oregon. Brett worked as a fisheries biologist, before becoming a professional guide. Brett has guided extended backcountry courses and expeditions all over the world for universities, government agencies, wilderness therapy programs and several other groups and organizations. Brett is the owner of Cascadia Expeditions, an outdoor adventure company that provides rafting, kayaking and rock-climbing expeditions. He has a passion for EMS, Search and Rescue and wilderness medicine and serves as an EMT with Philomath Fire and Rescue. Brett also keeps his rescue skills sharp as a member of the Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit, a high-angle mountain rescue team in Oregon. When he’s not engrossed in the EMS or SAR worlds, you’ll likely find him out paddling an Oregon creek or climbing and skiing one of the Cascade volcanoes.
