Scholarships
Every year, NOLS awards generous need-based scholarships. Our scholarships take into account unusual expenses, and special or changing circumstances. Scholarships can range from a small portion to larger amounts of the course cost.

- Apply for a grant to host a full Wilderness First Aid course for your organization
529 Plans & AmeriCorps Awards
You are eligible to use your 529 College Savings Plan or AmeriCorps Education Award to cover the costs of your course, thanks to NOLS’ partnership with Western State Colorado University.
Any Wilderness Medicine course is eligible for AmeriCorps and 529 plans.

Veterans Benefits
Wilderness medicine certifications are credentials employers value and will prepare you to respond to emergencies in remote, resource-limited environments. These certifications are gateways to new careers and personal growth.
VA Benefits are eligible for the following courses (*Wyoming courses only)
- Wilderness Medicine and Rescue Semester
- Wilderness EMT
- Wilderness First Responder
- Wilderness First Aid
Benefits can be used for NOLS according to the Title 38 United States Code.
