About the expedition

On the Owen Graduate School Wilderness Expedition, you will hone practical leadership strategies and technical outdoor skills over seven days of travel in the isolated mountain valleys, ragged icy peaks, and brawling rivers of the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming. On a daily basis you will be challenged to exercise individual decisiveness while simultaneously facilitating excellent teamwork, skills relevant to school and business. The weather in this part of the world is often unpredictable and challenging, however, these conditions build resilience and tolerance for adversity and uncertainty.

There will be a strong focus on leadership styles. You will have the opportunity to connect academic theories to practical leadership skills as a designated leader and active follower. As you develop your situational leadership skills on this expedition, you will become more competent as a leader at school, in business, and in your social life.
