Prince William Sound Sea Kayaking – 16 and 17 only

Prince William Sound Sea Kayaking – 16 and 17 only

Explore Alaska’s Majestic Fjords: A 21-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure

Spend three weeks sea kayaking over 100 miles through Prince William Sound—fjords, tidewater glaciers, and coastline rich with marine life. You’ll paddle single and double kayaks through some of Alaska’s most stunning and remote marine wilderness, learning both technical paddling skills and leadership along the way.

You’ll start with the fundamentals: loading kayaks, paddle strokes, and wet exits. As you progress, you’ll learn to read tide charts, navigate in changing weather, and assess marine hazards. Your instructors will also teach local history and help you understand the natural environment that you’re living in— while observing marine mammals like seals, sea lions and whales, and exploring the tidal zone around camp. You might fish for salmon, rockfish, or halibut depending on your route.

To maximize time in remote areas, your group and kayaks will be chartered out to a beach via landing craft. From there, you’ll paddle with all your expedition gear stowed in your boat, traveling as a group while instructors gradually shift more responsibility to students for navigation and decision-making.

You’ll travel through black bear country and paddle coastlines where weather, currents, and wind demand constant attention. Weather can change quickly and this area commonly receives rain and colder temperatures.

You’ll leave with sea kayaking skills, leadership experience, and a deep appreciation for Alaska’s coastal wilderness— one of the most beautiful places on earth.
