NOLS NYC Grads Frolic in Vermont’s White Fluff

NOLS expeditions tend to hook people on backcountry adventure. Not only that, our alumni also often gain the skills to get themselves, their friends and families back into the outdoors long after their course. Even grads who are now living in some of the world’s most intense urban wilderness can work together to pull off legitimate outdoor shenanigans.

Recently, NOLS Africa grad Lori Bukiewicz and two-dozen other NYC stalwarts recently teamed up for a wintry ski adventure in Vermont. After braving a four-hour commute, they spent a weekend of cabin-based skiing, snowshoeing, cooking and fun— including 18” of new snow!

Rich Brame came to NOLS in the 80's as a Fall Semester in the Rockies student and worked his first NOLS course at Wind Cave National Park in 1984.
