NOLS New York City Alumni Chapter
What is NOLS NYC?
Mission: NOLS-NYC promotes the ideals of the National
Outdoor Leadership School and develops an association of people
dedicated to leadership, the wilderness experience, and the
environment within our urban community. This mission is achieved
through a variety of activities, including social events, service
opportunties, and fundraising efforts.
The loose-knit chapter brings people together for a wide range of outdoor activities including
climbing hiking, kayaking, camping, skiing, biking, fishing and more. NOLS
NYC also uses it's energy and leadership talents by serving the community through
various charities, community service initiatives, clean-ups, fund-raising,
etc. Lastly, NOLS NYC initiates various social/educational events such as
film festivals, lectures and our Annual Reunion at Patagonia SoHo to promote
fellowship among alumni and to help further the NOLS mission.

X-Country Skiing / Snowshoeing Weekend, Merck Forest, VT - Camp in rustic cabins approx 4 hours from NYC. Equipment rentals available. We’ll divvy up all necessary camping and cooking gear. Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour - 2537 Broadway at 95th Street. Come see the best of this international film competition. Film themes include mountaineering, ice & rock climbing, skiing, kayaking, snowboarding, wildlife and environmental issues. Tickets $21 in advance and $24 at the door - available avter December 1st. |

Date TBD – Bronx River Flotilla Paddle
This is the kick-off for the river’s paddling season. The Bronx River is an environmental clean-up success story, come enjoy it! We’ll paddle in canoes past the NY Botanical Gardens and Bronx Zoo. This event is free. Email NOLS NYC volunteers for details. |

Kayaking on the Hudson River - Launch out of Cold Spring, NY with Atlantic Kayak Tours and paddle up the Hudson. Pack a lunch and spend the day on the water. All necessary equipment will be provided. Organized by local alumni stalwarts. Email NOLS NYC volunteers for details.
