New York Times Travel Show is in the Rearview Mirror

The New York Times Travel Show just wrapped up a few hours ago. It was another great show for NOLS. About 2,500 people stopped by the bus to learn more about NOLS and our programs. They were also very excited about the NOLS Bus and it’s RVO power. Many people who stopped by had read about NOLS in amNewYork, a free daily newspaper with a circulation of 100,000.

The NOLS crew of Ashley, Winter, Jared and Matthew were joined by Lander marketing staff Doug Skiba, Kirsten Johnson and yours truly. There were times when even with all seven of us going full bore we couldn’t keep up with the crowds.

We were reinforced by 30 or so of the best alumni in outdoor education. The NOLS Street Teams walked the show floor in their NOLS windpants and NOLS/Lowe Alpine packs spreading the NOLS gospel around the entire show floor.

We were joined at the show by fellow Adventure Collection members Miacato Safaris, Geographic Expeditions, Lindblad Expeditions and Natural Habitats.

Now I need a few days for my voice to recover. But no time for that, tomorrow I’ll meet NOLS ED, John Gans in Boulder, CO for a meeting with NOLS Bus sponsor, Silk. We will be giving an update on the project and working on plans for the future.
