ATV’ers Hobnob with Conservation Groups

Last week, 100 folks from all walks of life showed up at the America’s Great Outdoors Central Wyoming Forum at Lander Valley High School: outdoor educators, elementary school teachers, boy scout troop leaders, elected representatives, ATV and snowmobile association members, state and federal public lands officials, backcountry horsemen, human‐powered recreation and leave‐no‐trace advocates, conservation professionals, tribal leaders, and young people from the community.
Hosted by NOLS Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability, Teton Science Schools, Central Wyoming College, Trout Unlimited, and Wyoming State Parks and Historic Sites & Trails, this grassroots listening session was a huge success.
With the help of facilitators and moderators from NOLS, we received input from all the participants, and compiled it all into a report that we all hope will end up on President Obama’s desk this fall!
If you are interested in what Central Wyomingites have to say to our President about America’s Great Outdoors, ask for a copy of the report by e-mailing [email protected]. If you want to give input the President, submit your ideas at the America’s Great Outdoors web-site.
