The Packrafting Scholarship presented by American Packrafting Association, Alpacka Raft, and NOLS is a collective effort to raise awareness of packrafting and provide an experience of packrafting to underserved communities. This summer, it will provide a scholarship for a NOLS 10-day packrafting course based out of NOLS Alaska. We hope this creates an opportunity for someone to pursue their interest in packrafting that may have otherwise felt out of reach and that such an experience fosters learning within their community.
This need-based scholarship is for a member of an underserved community who is 23 years or older. The application closed on April 4, 2025 at midnight. Applicants will be notified throughout the process of their eligibility with a final decision communicated in early May.
The recipient will receive a scholarship for the full tuition of the course, relevant rental equipment, and a packraft from Alpacka Raft! Participants will be required to cover the costs of travel to and from NOLS Alaska.
