Joyce Choi

Joyce’s 25+ year career in finance has helped to quench her desire to see the world, having worked in HK, London, and NY. Since 2017, Joyce has led the Institutional Strategy effort for Blackrock’s iShares Fixed Income business. Prior to 2017, Joyce was a partner at VZ Capital, an EM macro hedge fund, based out of London. This venture, a spin out of her prior fund, Tudor Investment, expanded her mandate into managing EM FX, equities, and fixed income. Joyce started her career as a credit analyst at Morgan Stanley, where she covered HY and IG companies.
Joyce was fortunate to discover NOLS through a NOLS alumni who had invited her to join the trip to the Italian Dolomites in 2013. Mt. Kilimanjaro was next, with Bhutan and India soon to follow. Joyce graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Economics and French in 1999.
