Salmon River Rafting Adventure for Teens 14-15 - 2 Weeks
This two-week course for teens ages 14 and 15 will explore the Main Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho in The Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness. You will navigate the Salmon’s whitewater primarily in paddle rafts and oar rigs. On the water, you’ll learn strokes, commands, guiding basics, and advanced maneuvering. This wilderness area is home to abundant wildlife, including gray wolves, peregrine falcons, black bears, and bald eagles. The beautiful setting will allow for camping on sandy beaches and even visiting natural hot springs right at the river’s edge.
As you learn these how to navigate while on the river, you’ll also focus on developing leadership skills. Each day you’ll take on different roles in the group, including being an active follower, designated leader, selfleader, and peer leader. You’ll return home from the river with new friendships, great memories, and the skills to lead in the outdoors and beyond.
