Cathedral School River Expedition

The Cathedral School Leadership Expedition is a river adventure in Utah, where you will paddle through the rugged southern terrain of dramatic cliffs, isolated desert landscapes and hidden side canyons.

Your expedition will start at the NOLS River Base in Vernal, Utah, where you’ll get comfortable with the basics such as paddle strokes, rigging and rowing rafts, and figuring out what to pack. Once you’re on the river, the focus will be on building teamwork, leadership, and outdoor skills. NOLS instructors will guide you through camp cooking and stove use, map reading, Leave No Trace practices, and safe, efficient river travel. They’ll also support you as you practice making decisions, taking on leadership roles, and working together as a strong, supportive team.
