Prince William Sound Sea Kayaking – Adult

Prince William Sound Sea Kayaking – Adult

Paddle the Alaskan coast

Find your next adventure on the clear, sparkling waters of Alaska’s Prince William Sound. Join a group of motivated peers ages 23 and up to kayak past tidewater glaciers and crystal-blue icebergs. Smell the salt air and feel the sea breeze ruffle your hair as you paddle to the next campsite. Keep an eye out for coastal wildlife ranging from humpback whales and porpoises to sea otters and seals. Catch wild salmon or halibut for dinner and make camp in forested coves. Fall asleep to the sound of waves against the shore.

Designed to fit into your busy schedule, this two-week expedition is an opportunity to expand your outdoor skills and grow as a leader. You’ll start with the basics, like paddling techniques, chart reading, and cooking on a campstove. Later, you’ll move on to more advanced topics, from reading tides and ocean currents to assessing marine hazards.

As you gain confidence in your kayaking skills, you’ll also grow your leadership skills. Practice good communication while planning the day’s paddling route, and learn to manage group dynamics effectively while navigating to the next campsite. Get comfortable taking on different roles to support a team, and gain insight into your personal leadership style. Return ready to lead at work and in your community.

NOLS adult courses are designed for both beginners and experienced individuals. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of skill level!
