Wells Fargo Donates $5K to Wilderness Medicine Campus

LANDER, WYO — As the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Wyss Wilderness Medicine Campus takes shape in the Red Canyon outside of Lander, Wyo., Wells Fargo announced it would contribute $5,000 toward the effort this week.

“Wells Fargo is excited to support NOLS,” said Tim Kugler, Wells Fargo regional president for Wyoming. “The NOLS Wyss Wilderness Medicine Campus will provide valuable medical training to medical personnel providing emergency services in rural areas and the backcountry.”

Upon completion this fall, the campus will be home to the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) complete with classrooms, outside practice areas, residences and dining facilities. The state-of-the-art sustainable campus is only possible through the continued support of organizations like Wells Fargo. NOLS was challenged to raise $1.5 million by the campus’ namesake Hansjorg Wyss, who promised a matching gift upon completion. As of receipt of Wells Fargo’s contribution, only $232,076 remains.

“The support of the community in this endeavor is incredible. We are very excited to be able to bring this campus to the Lander area and to our students from around the world,” said Melissa Gray, WMI director.
