Spring Semester Students Gear Up
Yesterday students from the first two spring ‘Semester in the Rockies‘ sections started to gear up and plan for their 87 days in the wilderness. As they bagged food and tried on new layers excitement was in the air.
Students spent the day organizing gear and practicing back country skills like setting up their tents.
Students also seemed to find ample time to relax as the day’s activities went on…
Today the students were up early packing more gear for their terrain tour, which consists of getting to know most of the gear they will be using before heading out into the mountains. The students will practice using their stoves, setting up shelters, pulling their gear behind them in sleds, and getting their feet under them on free heel skis.
