Busy, Busy, Busy
Had a busy day today in NYC. I started out this morning spending a few hours with Lucas Conley at Fast Company magazine. I updated him on the latest at NOLS—the training that we do for NASA, the NOLS Bus project, partnerships, etc.
Then I was downtown to meet with the TV production company, Grenada. They are a British based firm that has a number of shows currently running on cable networks. They have a new show concept that they wanted to bounce off us.
From there I was off to Newark, NJ to do the presentation for Newark school teachers. This was the presentation that was postponed Tuesday due to snow. On the way over I did a phone interview with Alexandra from AM New York, a NYC newspaper with a circulation of about 100k. It was great fun and she was in the process of downloading images of the NOLS Bus from our website. Her story is to appear in tomorrow’s paper. About a dozen people showed up for the Newark presentation. A pretty respectable crowd given the fact that we had to re-schedule. It was great to see Barbara Greenburg and Ken Goldman of the Rivendell Foundation, the sponsors of this scholarship program.
Speaking of the NOLS Bus. It’s here in New York. The crew pulled into the Javits Center late this afternoon in preparation for the weekend’s New York Times Travel Show. NOLS registrar, Kirsten Johnson arrived this afternoon so we have our show crew assembled—Kirsten, Doug Skiba and I are here joining NOLS Bus stalwarts—Ashley, Winter, Jared and Matthew. We are planning on a busy and fun weekend.
