Bank of the West Invests in a NOLS Education for Wyoming Residents

Lander, Wyo – The Bank of the West has agreed to endow the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) with a scholarship of $1,000 to be granted to Wyoming residents who take NOLS courses. Each year NOLS offers over $1,000,000 in scholarship assistance to applicants who show great potential to excel as NOLS students and who would be unable to attend without financial aid.

“Studies have shown that an outdoor education leads to better performance in more traditional educational settings,” said NOLS Alumni and Development Director Pip Coe. “The skills NOLS students learn in the wilderness easily transfer to every day living, and NOLS is thrilled to to partner with a local business to provide such an opportunity to Wyoming residents.”

“Bank of the West is pleased to be investing in the future of Wyoming youth,” said Bank of the West President Tom Hancock. “NOLS has a huge impact on its students’ lives, and we are excited to be able to participate in that experience.”
