Ananda Yoga to Host Expedition Denali Fundraiser

Ananda YogaLANDER, WY—Ananda Yoga Lander will host an evening of restorative yoga to benefit the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) project Expedition Denali.

On Thursday, May 2, at 6 p.m., NOLS Diversity and Inclusion Manager Aparna Rajagopal-Durbin will introduce guests at the Ananda Yoga Lander studio at 145 N. Third Street to Expedition Denali, the first African American expedition to attempt to summit Denali in an effort to inspire youth of color to discover the outdoors and its importance to the future.

This event will fundraise specifically for a documentary about the team and their climb which will help spread the word in a powerful way about the importance of time spent outdoors and of exposing all people to that experience. Distill Productions has launched a campaign on Kickstarter to make this documentary possible, and computers will be available for local supporters to give what they can on Thursday night.

Immediately following the introduction, Ananda Yoga owner Sylvia Carl will lead guests in a free hour of restorative yoga.
