4th Grade Outdoor Ed Expo
In honor of National Public Lands Day 2012 the Sinks Canyon Center in Lander, WY hosted a 4th Grade Outdoor Ed Expo day for Lander Public Schools. Wyoming Fish and Wildlife, National Weather Service and Popo Agie Conservation District were all present hosting one of ten different stations. The 4th graders were led to the ten different stations throughout
the day by Central Wyoming College Outdoor Education student volunteers. We had the privilege of joining Brandon Thielke from the Bureau of Land Management, Mike Trewartha from the National Forest Service and Ann Schorling from NOLS Rocky Mountain, to teach the students about Leave No Trace principles and how to safely cross a river. At our station, Leave No Trace principles were taught using a good campsight scenario and a bad campsight scenario.

We had a great day working with the excited 4th grade class, and want to give a special thanks for the helpful support of Mike, Brandon and Ann.
