Jack Murphy was a NOLS graduate from Boston who discovered a deep love for the outdoors at an early age. Before his senior year of high school, he completed a five-week NOLS Alaska backpacking expedition, he had a transformative experience and thrived as a leader. He later attended the University of Colorado Boulder, continuing to build his skills in wilderness medicine, leadership, and community. With this growing interest and skill set, Jack returned to NOLS to take a Wilderness First Responder and Outdoor Educator Course. Jack passed away at age 22 due to a lightning strike.
