3 Delicious Breakfast Spreads [Video]

Whether you like your breakfast sweet or savory, you’ll love being able to whip up these spreads in the frontcountry or the backcountry for your toast, oatmeal, pancakes, or to lick up straight from the jar!
For those with a sweet tooth: Wild Berry Jam
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh berries
- ½-1 cup brown sugar
- 1-2 Tbs. flour to thicken (if desired)
Directions
- Wash berries and crush them. Measure out 2 cups and put into pan.
- Bring crushed berries to a boil, then add sugar and flour
- Cook rapidly until thick. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
- Spread and enjoy!
If you’re camping with kids, this is a fun way to ask them to help out by gathering their own berries for breakfast!
For a more subtle taste: Cinnamon-Honey Butter
Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 Tbs. honey
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Spread and enjoy!
Especially delicious on pancakes.
For a power-packed morning: Power Peanut Butter Spread
Ingredients
- ½ cup peanut butter (cashew, almond, or soy nut butters also work well)
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup butter
- â…“ cup powdered milk (you can use regular, soy, coconut, or Nido powdered milks)
Directions
- Carefully melt peanut butter, honey, and butter in a pot.
- Stir in powdered milk.
- Spread and enjoy!
