Bank of the West Sponsors Scholarships for Wyoming Students
Lander, Wyo. — On Friday, Dec. 16, the Bank of the West granted the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) a $500 scholarship for Wyoming resident NOLS students. Each year, NOLS offers over $1 million in scholarships to applicants who would not otherwise be able to enroll. The nonprofit organization relies on the contributions of local entities like the Bank of the West to make giving so much in scholarships possible.
“The grant really shows the belief that our community has in the value of a NOLS education.” said Pip Coe, NOLS Alumni and Development Director. “Through the Bank of the West’s generosity, NOLS will be able to provide scholarship support to a Wyoming student.”
Lander, Wyo. Branch Manager Kendall Hayford said Bank of the West believes firmly in the NOLS mission and the importance of making a NOLS education available to Wyoming’s students.
“We want to be a part, even a small part, of helping those who can’t typically afford to take [NOLS] programs to have an option to stay involved, to gain the knowledge and leadership that NOLS provides,” Hayford said.
