
Registration Paperwork
NOLS Alumni asks that you turn in the required paperwork upon registration for a trip or at least 45 days in advance, whichever is more proximal to the trip date. This helps us ensure we have commitments from all participants and we are aware of any dietary or health considerations that will need to be made.
Registration paperwork is valid for one year from when it is signed and may be used on multiple trips. If you register more than one year in advance, we ask that you wait until you are within the one year mark to send us your paperwork.
Deposit and Cancellation Policy
These policies exist to encourage commitment when applying for a NOLS alumni trip and to cover the costs incurred by NOLS when someone either cancels or leaves a program. A non-refundable deposit is due upon registration for a course. Trips have different deposits based on costs that NOLS is incurring. Full tuition is due 60 days before the start of your trip.
For canceled enrollment on an alumni trip, you will receive a refund of tuition above the deposit as specified:
- For canceled enrollment 45 days or greater before the event start date, NOLS will refund tuition above the deposit. The initial deposit is not refundable but can be transferred to a different trip in the future or held on your account for 2 years to be used at a later date. If not used in the subsequent 2 years, it will expire and be retained by NOLS.
- For canceled enrollment from 15 to 44 days prior to the event start date, NOLS will retain the full deposit or 25 percent of total tuition, whichever is greater. These funds are not eligible to be transferred.
- For canceled enrollment from 8 to 14 days prior to the event start date, NOLS will retain 50 percent of total tuition. These funds are not eligible to be transferred.
- Less than 8 days prior to the event start date and once the event has begun, there will be no refunds. These funds are not eligible to be transferred.
- If NOLS cancels a trip for any reason, you will receive a full refund of your tuition and deposit.


Transfer Policy
The NOLS Alumni Department tries to be flexible and allow transfers to a different NOLS experience without charge. Depending on how many days it is till your original trip starts and our fixed expenses, we will be able to fulfill this goal. Please contact us directly if you would like to transfer and we will work in your best interest while also ensuring we cover the financial commitments of the school.
