Libby was introduced to NOLS in October of 2007 when she took the Baja Ocean Semester—a three month exploration of the Sea of Cortez by sea kayak and sailboat. The experience was hugely influential, and led her to seek more water-based adventures in the United States, the South Pacific, and Central and South America. Soon after completing her Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology at the University of Minnesota, she moved West to Lander, WY to pursue a career in outdoor education with NOLS. She has spent the last 10+ years in the NOLS Expedition Admissions department, focused on building collegiate and organizational relationships that will reduce barriers to attendance and make it possible for more students to incorporate a NOLS education into their plans.
Libby relocated to Minneapolis, MN with her husband, Brian, and dog, Watson, at the end of 2016, and now works full-time for NOLS remotely. Outside of work, Libby enjoys exploring the frigid waters of Lake Superior, wandering the Northwoods of Minnesota and Wisconsin, and embracing the quiet, snowy landscape that blankets the Twin Cities much of the year.
