Kat's passion for wilderness was initially sparked by her parents and her backyard access to Toronto's Rouge Park, North America's largest urban preserve. Sharing her passion for the land has been her driving force from teaching high school geography and running an outdoor education center to guiding in the Andes and instructing for NOLS in Canada, Chile, Australia and the US. A firm believer in learning from practical experience and cultivating robust self-awareness, Kat takes her own lifelong learning very seriously. She has a M.A. in Leadership and Training (Royal Roads University), B.Ed. (Queen’s University) and a B.A. (Trent University). Currently, she is pursuing coaching training with Integral Coaching Canada. Kat lives in the Tetons with her husband, Bruce, and their two dogs, Luna and Hank. She is zealous about her backyard (Greater Yellowstone Area), bike packing and playing outdoors as much as possible.
