Emily grew up in the wild swamplands of Florida, canoeing through mangroves in search of higher elevation. While at college in Boston, Emily's passion for getting outside expanded alongside her passion for creating access for underrepresented folks to get outside as she led groups through New Hampshire's White Mountains and Vermont's Green Mountains. After having enough of three years working in Silicon Valley, Emily moved to Lander to work at NOLS and found herself alongside other people who also believe in using the outdoors as a medium for intentional community-building and growth. She is currently an operations coordinator for Custom Education, helping students from schools, camps, organizations, and other groups discover their potential through outdoor leadership and education. When she's not at work, Emily can be found looking for other people in Lander to play tennis with, listening to podcasts about science, and grasping onto summer sunshine.
