Carrie Dodge is the assistant director of NOLS Pacific Northwest in Conway, Washington. She grew up in Northern Michigan and was introduced to spending time outdoors at a young age with her family. Carrie quickly discovered this is where she felt most alive and couldn't imagine pursuing any other type of career. She attended her first NOLS course in 1999 as a student on a semester in the Pacific Northwest and then obtained a degree in Outdoor Experiential Education at Prescott College in Arizona. After working for a number of other outdoor education and wilderness programs around the country, she found her way back to NOLS in 2007 as an intern for NOLS Custom Education and took her NOLS instructor course that same year. Since then she has worked as a NOLS field staffing coordinator, a NOLS Custom Education account manager, and the NOLS Scandinavia program manager in addition to instructing sea kayaking, backpacking, and backcountry skiing courses at numerous NOLS locations in the US, Mexico, and India. In 2015, all of this experience led her back to where her heart lies at NOLS Pacific Northwest. Carrie enjoys all that the Northwest has to offer with access to both mountains and ocean, four seasons, and activities she loves including skiing, kayaking, hiking, and climbing.
