Living in Virginia throughout high school and college, Caleb fell in love with backpacking, hiking, and climbing in the Appalachian mountains and has spent most of his life snowboarding all over the East Coast. Caleb attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he obtained his B.S. in Marketing with a concentration on Product and Brand Management, as well as a Certificate of Studies in Product Innovation. While studying at VCU he became heavily involved with the Outdoor Adventure Program, going on climbing and sea kayaking trips, and even founded the university’s Ski & Snowboard Club. His first introduction to NOLS was on a Teton Valley Backcountry Splitboarding course following his graduation in 2015. After that course he realized he wanted to be out west, so he decided to embark on a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail during the 2016 season. Caleb joined the NOLS team to help more people get outside, and experience the life-changing adventures that can only be found in the truly wild places. During his free time, you can find him somewhere in the mountains or at a big rock, drinking coffee, or watching Netflix, while trying to decide what to cook for dinner.
