An eastern North Carolina native and performing arts kid, Anna was introduced to the outdoor experiential world during a three-week course in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with the Voyageur Outward Bound School during the summer of 2011. She went on to complete the Northwoods Experiential Semester with VOBS and (finally!) received her B.S. in Recreation Management with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Appalachian State University in spring 2018. Although she is technically already a NOLS alum with a NOLS Wilderness Medicine WFR-recert under her belt, Anna looks forward to further developing her outdoor skills on other NOLS courses. A dedicated dog mom, Anna spends most, if not all, of her free time with her retired sled dog, Browns, who is the light of her life and accompanies her on all of life's adventures.
