Originally from New England, Andrew came to Wyoming by way of summer ranch work, building barbed wire fence with "office" views of the Rawahs and the Snowy Range. After twice stopping in Lander en route to the Winds for backpacking trips, he was introduced to NOLS and small town Wyoming life—and decided to take the leap. True to his surname, Andrew is a schoolman with a background in philosophy and theology. He earned a liberal arts degree at St. John’s College in both Santa Fe, NM, and Annapolis, MD; lived in a Benedictine monastery for a year; and knows no fewer than three dead languages. He thru-hiked the Colorado Trail in 2014 and the Long Trail in 2015, and in his spare time he does CrossFit, plays classical and finger-style guitar, and listens to cassette tapes. Andrew is excited to help students gain their footing at NOLS!
