Join us for a nine-day trek along the high spine of the Italian Alps. This challenging route connects hut lodging from Monte Rosa, to the Matterhorn, across St. Bernard Pass and on to the foothills of Mont Blanc. Enjoy Italian cuisine, light backpacks and a great team of adventurous companions.
Connecting our string of rifugios and inns lets us savor local cuisine and culture while mixing with other, mostly European travelers. We’ll carry light backpacks along the area’s airy trails, steep slopes and high spires. The trip starts and ends in the ancient city of Turin, founded by the Romans in 218 BC. Pre and post-trip lodging in Turin is included in the tuition.
This challenging trip will reacquaint you with NOLS skills in a convivial, relaxing and visually stunning location. Of course, non-alumni adult friends and family members are also invited— this is a great way to introduce NOLS to your sidekicks.
*Enjoy light packs, challenging, steep hikes and rifugio living.
