Service Project - Alumni

Backcountry trails lead NOLS and millions of other users into the wilderness every year. On these unique trips NOLS grads and families venture into the backcountry for a week of camping, camaraderie, and service on those trails. We partner with local land management agencies to identify hot spots of need where we can make a difference.

This year, NOLS is organizing two different trips to support the trail systems that we all enjoy and love.

2018 Service Project Locations:

  • Gabriels, New York: Adirondack State Park in New York will be the home for our first project. The project will likely focus on lean-to roof restoration, bog bridgework, and additional trail maintenance, and/or campsite rehab as well.
  • Olympic National Park - Washington: Join the NOLS alumni team in Olympic Park's incredibly diverse backcountry. From coasts to peaks, this trip offers a spectrum of projects including trail repair, bridge and structure updates and campsite improvements.

Activity Rating*:

*Packstock or partners carry most of the group gear, but trail building is hard work.
