Baja Spring Break Sea Kayaking

Paddle the Sea of Cortez

Wake up and see the sun rise as you check the ocean tide. Explore colorful reefs in the waters of the Sea of Cortez. Hike the rugged hills of the coastal desert. Listen to the waves on the beach as you fall asleep, ready to do it all again tomorrow. On this course you’ll learn the skills you need to start sea kayaking and camping on your own. You’ll start with the basics, like paddling, rescue, and coastal camping. As you explore tide pools teeming with life, you’ll learn about the area’s ecology and history. You might also meet members of local fishing communities and learn about their way of life.

Working with your group to traverse Baja California’s stunning coastline will be your opportunity to develop your leadership skills. New challenges on the water, like quick-changing weather, will test your communication and risk management skills. Filling different leadership roles each day will help you develop your own style of leadership. In just a week, you’ll walk away real leadership experience and memories of the Baja coast that will help you be a leader in school and beyond.
